Get certified through TELEMEDICINE ENCOUNTER
WITH
MariHealth Doctors
Apply for and receive your card from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
ANY QUESTIONS ? IF YOU WANT A DOCTOR TO CALL YOU (free of charge), CALL US Phone : 1-412-512-1439 AND TELL US UNTIL WHAT TIME HE/SHE MAY CALL YOU or complete a short form.
We have chosen to charge a fee that is lower than what is charged by most doctors in Pennsylvania:
Indeed the certification fee and MMJ are not reimbursed by either federal health programs or insurance companies. Moreover after the certification you will have to pay $50 to the Department of Health (less in some cases) before receiving the card. Please notice that we will fully refund you if you are not eligible for the MMJ card after your Telemedicine encounter.
MariHealth Doctors use Telemedicine (phone or computer video chat) to meet patients. How does it work ? We will send you (by email) a link before the appointment. You will only have to click it a few minutes before the hour of the appointment (or copy the address into your browser, Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari). And then you will arrive into our virtual waiting room. Type in your name and click “Check in” to let the doctor know that you have arrived. While waiting for the doctor, you may click “Start test” to be sure that your camera and microphone are OK.
You only need a device with a camera and a microphone : desktop, tablet or smartphone. There is nothing to download, no software, no application. You will not be asked to create an account. We use a secure and simple videoconference platform :Â doxy.me . For more information, you can have a look at its website . If you are anxious with technical questions or if you want to read information in a language other than English go here .
Once you have received your card, you can visit a dispensary and buy MMJ. About 60 dispensaries have been licensed by the state of Pennsylvania. Before your first visit, call to make an appointment. By law, a licensed health care professional (usually a pharmacist) must be present at all times in the facility to give advice and answer questions (what products are available to you, what form and dosage ?). Due to the COVID-19 crisis, this requirement has been suspended but a medical professional must remain available for remote consultations.
Before your first visit, read the dispensary menu on its website. If you do not understand certain terms, it is preferable to inform yourself (in books or on Internet) to be more comfortable when meeting the medical professional. At the entrance of the dispensary, you will be asked to show an identity card and the MMJ card. For the consultation with a medical professional, bring a list of the medications you are taking. And don’t forget to bring cash! MMJ is expensive and usually clinics only accept cash.
Once you get home, how do you start with MMJ? To avoid excessive side effects, start with a low dose. Be patient. Don’t take a second dose before the first one takes effect. On another day, increase the dose if necessary. Do this gradually, to find the dose that works best for you. Start low and go slow !
